to get ready for the upcoming school year!!! Yes, I know. It's time for a vacation!! However, when my husband works, the kids are in and out of the house, and the house is finally clean . . . YEP . . . my brain starts wandering to the new year. Crazy . . . I know!
Anyways, I've been working on my "Teacher Notebook". The ultimate notebook where I have everything I need at my fingertips! Lesson plans, calendars, gradebook, standards, planner . . . yep, this is what I call the ULTIMATE teacher notebook. This year, I decided that I'd share this with others on Teachers pay Teachers. I have created 2 versions - landscape and portrait - to meet the teachers' diverse needs. This notebook is also editable, so you can add your district specific inservice, work days, and holidays as well as your daily schedule to make your notebook YOU!! If you're looking for an easy to edit, one stop, notebook . . . hop over to my TpT store and check it out later this month. I have a few items to finish up and it will be ready for YOU!
Finally, as I've been starting to organize my year, I am preparing some great FREEBIE resources!!

The first resource I posted is an annotated bibliography of "Online Learning Resources" that I have or currently use in my classroom. For several years, I've been flipping my classroom instruction at school. I teach elementary students and many do not have internet access at home. Therefore, I worked with the resources I had available and used the same "flipping" idea, but did it at school. The results were fantastic. I'll share more about that later. This last school year I piloted a "Blended Technology/Project Based Learning" program for my school district. Again . . . FABULOUS LEARNING!! I changed things up a bit, but still kept a technology focus.
The second resource is one of my favorite lessons from my project based learning unit: My Place in History. I have used this unit for several grades 2 - 6 at the beginning of the school year. I love the story, Because of Winn-Dixie, and use this novel study as part of my reading instruction. This lesson plan is great for developing writing skills, regardless of the developmental level. I've included some "additional lesson ideas" in this lesson, so you can see how diverse this lesson plan can be to use!
As a result of my experiences (and we know that technology changes daily), I've put together this FREEBIE resource for you all to use!! Hop on over to my TpT store, The Digital Den, to get your copy!! Enjoy!!
That's about it for today. I'm going to head outside and catch some sunshine before the forecasted rain moves in.
Make it a great day!
